I specialize in covering Douglas and Johnson counties. Time after time, I have covered and broke the breaking news stories that the rest of the local media has missed out on for hours. Covering only two counties allows me to pay more attention to the activity that may start small but then quickly and quietly escalate to something much more serious. I have reported Police Department confirmed "suspicious death investigations" hours before anyone else, along with deadly accidents, shootings, house fires and many more examples listed below on this page.
While most are listening to the same crime night after night in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas I am covering the areas that are within the Kansas City news market which have been repeatedly neglected from receiving true real time breaking news coverage.
The others will tell you they are the place to turn to when news breaks in Douglas or Johnson County. Operation 100 News is the only place that consistently proves we are the only ones on top of breaking news in this area. See a few of the many examples below, a brief history of Operation 100 News is also provided at the bottom of this page.

History of Operation 100 News:
I have lived in Johnson County since 1985, monitored Police Departments, Sheriff's Office, Fire Departments and Med-Act activity countywide since 1996. I have monitored countywide events in Douglas County since 2002. Over the years I have built many personal contacts throughout the Law Enforcement & Fire community. I have attended Johnson County Community College for Administration of Justice.
I personally used to call various KC television news outlet's news desks and provide them with details from my sources or from my being on scene. This was almost always a one sided arrangement. Very few realized the potential assistance that Operation 100 News could provide. These arrangements ceased in May 2010 but, are still available by contract only.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

High Fire Danger Expected
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for a large area including most of Central and Eastern Kansas. This area includes the entire Kansas City Metro area and Douglas County. All open burning is discouraged during this time.
The Red Flag Warning is in effect from Noon today until 7 p.m. this evening.
What is a Red Flag Warning? Definition from Weather.gov/glossary
A term used by fire-weather forecasters to call attention to limited weather conditions of particular importance that may result in extreme burning conditions. It is issued when it is an on-going event or the fire weather forecaster has a high degree of confidence that Red Flag criteria will occur within 24 hours of issuance. Red Flag criteria occurs whenever a geographical area has been in a dry spell for a week or two, or for a shorter period , if before spring green-up or after fall color, and the National Fire Danger Rating System (NFDRS) is high to extreme and the following forecast weather parameters are forecasted to be met:
1) a sustained wind average 15 mph or greater
2) relative humidity less than or equal to 25 percent and
3) a temperature of greater than 75 degrees F. In some states, dry lightning and unstable air are criteria. A Fire Weather Watch may be issued prior to the Red Flag Warning.
Today's Conditions:
Winds are expected to be from the Southwest at speeds of 15 to 25 MPH with gusts nearing 30 MPH in the afternoon hours.
Humidity levels are expected to be low, between 18 to 23 percent. The lowest levels are expected across east central Kansas and west central Missouri.
Any fires that develop are likely to spread rapidly and become very difficult to control due to weather conditions.
